Get your child reading

This is a fantastic program. My 7 year old is dyslexic and has overall language issues. I homeschooled my older children but she is in a private school where they use a mixture of phonics and whole language which is fine for other children but not ok for her. Her teacher and I are using this and she is excited to be able to finally start "getting it" and being able to sound out words. Reading has been a mystery for her. Her teacher does 2 lessons/day and I do 2 lessons/evening. It is BORING but we make it fun by incorporating a reward system of tickets and prizes and because she is older she is motivated.

RM Classic would be appropriate if your child is younger (4 yrs old or so), or (like mine) has a developmental delay and just learning to recognize sound/letter relationships, rhyming, syllable structure etc.
RM also has a fast track program for children that need a little less repetition
Also - the author has a book called Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Lessons (I used this successfully with my older children) which is perfect for homeschoolers or parents with precocious 4 year olds who are ready to read. It goes fast so is not good for children with a developmental delay but is great for typically developing children and A LOT less money than the other programs

I really needed this book and I could not wait until I received it. It is sooo helpful when teaching very young children how to read. I want to share it with everyone I know that teaches early education.

A fun and interesting romp through the centuries...

It's obvious that the author loves her subject matter. You get that right away. This is not your basic stuffy historical novel. This is a journey through centuries and across many continents that is always lively and always leaves you caring about the characters. It traces the lineage of one family from the ancient world to the new world. I was sometimes sorry to say goodbye to a character for which I had formed a particularly strong attachment but what was coming next would soon make me forget. And, to add further interest, the sex scenes are great. Not too graphic but lusty enough to leave you with a pleasant thought or two.

Not what I expected.

The book description only talks about a small portion of the book. It didn't prepare me for the book at all. I didn't like this book because there was no emotion (that was mainly due o the fact that it was in third person). It just dragged on and on with no real story plot. The way the author writes about religion is offending. The author makes religion seem like something so insignifican.

This book reminded me pillars of the earth, but short, unfortunely. It is well written, fast pace, easy to read. The author knows history and gives details accurately. Good reading.

If you are going to use QuickBooks to manage your church finances, buy this book. Read it BEFORE you begin your installation. It will answer your questions. It will save you time. It will help preserve your sanity. It will make you a better person. It will help you to lose weight. Well, maybe not that last one so much... but it IS a darn good resource. Even if you've already installed and are using QuickBooks, buy it and read it.

Very helpful book for those new to nonprofit bookkeeping or Quickbooks or both

I wish I had found this book when I first transitioned from the private sector to running a non-profit organization! Coming from a media background, I was familiar with budgets, etc., but I always had a bookkeeper for the actual accounting, so I found myself having to learn fast on my feet; add to that the need to learn how non-profits differ from for profit business and I felt completely behind the eight ball at times. After the first year, I had a functional handle on it, but things were still not where they should be and the annual financial review proved that there was more to learn.

Enter *Running Quickbooks in Nonprofits*; this book taught me more in one reading than a year of muddling through it and bothering the accountant with "free" questions until he was blue in the face. Not only did I finally get a good handle on the basics of accounting for a non-profit, but I was able to finally utilize the full power of Quickbooks within its inherent non-profit limitations - even the version of Quickbooks for non-profits isn't well adapted for the purpose as it was not built from the ground up for the unique accounting needs of non-profits. With this book, you will learn how to adapt Quickbooks for you non-profit organization and make it work for you, not against you.

The truth was, Jan Folger had never really given Junior Busby a second thought--even though he'd lived next door to her for about a million years. But her charity group was holding a bachelor auction. They needed one more eligible man to put on the block...and she supposed Junior would just have to do.

Then the local paper went and ran a photo of the fully grown Junior--wearing jeans and a five o'clock shadow--and suddenly it seemed like every woman in Byford, Indiana, wanted to know him better--a whole lot better. And Jan was starting to wonder if maybe she hadn't overlooked a hot property right there in her own neighborhood ...

Oldies but goodies for me this was one of my favorite books growing up. Of course reading it today didn't have the same effect on me like back then but i still enjoyed that re reading moment not a bad book and i LOVE the title.

An excellent British comedy/whodunnit/mystery...

This is one of those plays where afterwards, it gives you chills... that is, IF you understand it.

I played in this play last year as one of the lead roles, 'Moon', and learning all the little secrets within this magnificent peice was simply astounding.

Within this small script, you can find so many small stories on the side, so many things to help your character, and its really an excellent story.

After seeing it for the first time, you'll understnad the story as the plot unfolds, but you'll want to see it again... just in case.

The Real Inspector Hound is an awesome play, and I reccomend anyone to put it on!
